Complaint filed against Faisal Vawda in London

PML-N leader and former state minister Abid Sher Ali has filed a complaint against federal minister water resources Faisal Vawda in London. Abid Sher Ali registered the complaint against Vawda for having assets in London.
The complaint was registered with British National Crime Agency (NCA) to launch investigation into federal minister’s London assets. Faisal Vawda declared these properties in London using the tax amnesty scheme offered by PML-N government. He never mention these properties before.

In his complaint, Abid Sher Ali requested the British agency to conduct an inquiry into the assets of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) leader. He also claimed Vawda owns 11 properties in the UK.

The PML-N leader demanded that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairperson and the chief justice of Pakistan take action against Vawda.
The big mouthed Faisal Vawda is known for making tall claims and giving misleading statements. Few months back- he made the claim on Geo TV that there will be rain of jobs and wealth in Pakistan in next few months. But nothing happened.

Faisal Vawda got lot of media attention when he brings a military boot in the news studio of ARY news. He was widely criticised for bringing boot and then displaying it on the table. He likes to make controversial statements without having any content.

According to the investigative report appeared in The News International on Monday- Faisal Vawda was an American citizen when he filed his nomination paper to contest 2018 general elections from Karachi. He narrowly defeated PML-N president and former chief minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif.
According to the report, Vawda was in possession of a US passport at the time he filed his nomination papers on June 11, 2018, and remained an American national even at the time the scrutiny of his papers was completed.

In a past judgement, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had categorically ruled that candidates who held dual nationality were supposed to submit a renunciation certificate of the foreign nationality along with their nomination papers.
A petition has already been filed against Faisal Vawda in the election commision of Pakistan(ECP) seeking his disqualification for submitting false declaration.
