GB assembly elections-Big setback for PPP as former CM Mehdi Shah lost

 Syed Mehdi Shah was elected first Chief Minister of  GB after winning the 2009 elections from GB-7


The former Chief Minister GB Syed Mehdi Shah has lost the GB assembly elections from GB-7 Hunza. He lost against the PTI candidate Raja Zakria who got 5290 votes. Syed Mehdi Shah could only secured 4114 votes. He lost the election with the margin of nearly 1176 votes. It is really a big setback for PPP. He was among the bigwigs of PPP in GB. 
PML-N candidate Haji Akbar Taban could only gets 196 votes. The turnout in this  constituency was higher than the average in this election. The 54% voters cast their ballots.
