Legendary Punjabi folk singer Shaukat Ali passed away in Lahore

The legendary punjabi folk singer Shaukat Ali passed away today in Lahore. He was admitted in CMH after seriously fell ill. His son Ameer Shaukat Ali has confirmed his death and told the media that he was suffering from multiple ailments. 
Pakistani music industry lost one of the finest singers of his time.Earlier Ameer had requested the singer's fans for prayers following his deteriorating condition. He started his singing career in 1960s and became popular after singing  patriotic songs during the India- Pakistan war of 1965, such as Saathio Mujahido Jaag Utha Hai Sara Watan and Apna Quaid Aik Hai among many others.war-time patriotic songs such as Saathio Mujahido Jaag Utha Hai Sara Watan and Apna Quaid Aik Hai among many others. 
The Ghazal maestro was one of the most prolific artists of the Pakistani music industry, with a singing career spanning five decades. He was also a recipient of the Pride of Performance award.
 He had faced multiple medical issues, including diabetes and a liver transplant.Moreover, he had undergone a heart bypass surgery a few years ago.He had been ill for several years and regularly receiving the medical treatment.
