ECP announced to hold first phase of local government elections in Punjab on May 29

The elections will be held in 17 districts under the new local government ordinance still not passed by Punjab assembly


Election Commission of Pakistan has decided to organise first phase of local government elections in 17 districts of Punjab on May 29, 2022. The Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja chaired the meeting of the Election Commission to decide the date of polling in the first phase in Punjab. 

The elections will be held in Dera Ghazi khan, Rajanpur, Layyah, Muzaffar Ghar, Vehari, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Toba Tek Singh, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Jehlum, Attock, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin and Khushab.
