Australia wins the third test and the series against Pakistan
Australia wins the third test match by 115 runs as Pakistan all out for 235 in the second innings chasing the target of 351
Australia
off-spinner Nathan Lyon Friday bowled his team to a famous series win as the
visitors registered a thumping 115–run win on the final day of the final Test
of the three-match Test series at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
Pakistan was
well-placed at the end of the fourth day at 73-0. However, opener Abdullah
Shafiq was first to go as he edged a delivery of Cameron Green in the hands of
wicketkeeper Alex Carey without adding any run to his overnight score of 27.
Azhar Ali
became the first victim of Lyon when he was caught by Steven Smith in the slips
as Pakistan were reduced to 105-2. Azhar made 17 runs. Imam-ul-Haq made a fine
fifty but after scoring 70 runs he was the third wicket to fall. Australia wrap up the test match and the series in the last session of the fifth and final day.
