Rock solid Babar Azam stop the Australian march towards victory in the Karachi test

Pakistan finished the fourth day at 192 for two- thanks to brilliant hundred by Babar Azam and  half century by Abdullah Shafique

Pakistani skipper Babar Azam scored brilliant hundred on the fourth day of the second test match in Karachi to give some hope to the dejected Pakistani cricket fans. His century helped the Pakistan to finished the fourth day at 192-2. Abdullah Shafique scored brilliant half century and developed huge partnership 171 runs with captain Babar. Pakistan are currently chasing a 506-run target and Babar is at the crease with opener Abdullah Shafique. At the end of day 4, Pakistan are at 192-2 and require 314 runs to win with 8 wickets in hand.

Australia was hoping to wrap up the 2nd innings of Pakistani batting like the first innings but they were frustrated by the unbeaten third wicket stand between Babar Azam and Shafique. Pakistan now has a fair chance to draw the test match if not winning it. Australia has to work really hard on the fifth day to take the remaining 8 wickets to win the test match.

Babar scored this hundred after two years. This was Babar's sixth Test century. The last time the Pakistani skipper had crossed 100-runs was in February 2020 against Bangladesh when they had toured Pakistan.
