PP-288 DG Khan by poll- Abdul Qadir Khosa of PML-N is likely to win

Abdul Qadir Khosa is the son of Amjad Farooq Khosa MNA and enjoying support of Sardar Awais Leghari and former MPA Mohsin Atta Khosa

Sardar Abdul Qadir Khan Khosa of PML-N is likely to win the PP-288 DG khan seat in the July 17 by-elections. He has the edge due to the Leghari-Khosa alliance and the local groupings. His father also enjoys huge support in the constituency.  But a close contest is expected between the two big guns of Khosa tribe.
The real contest in PP-288 D G Khan is between two Khosas. PML-N has awarded ticket to Abdul Qadir Khosa the former chairman District council DG Khan and son of sitting PTI MNA  Sardar Amjad Farooq Khosa. Amjad Farooq Khosa won the 2018 general elections as an independent candidate and later join the PTI.
His rival Sardar Saifuddin Khosa is the son of former governor Punjab and tribal chief of Khosa tribes Sardar Zulifqar Khosa. Zulifqar Khosa was a senior PML-N leader but developed differences with party leadership and he joined PTI before the 2018 general elections. Former federal minister and PTI leader Zartaj Gul is campaigning for Saif Khosa.
Saifuddin Khosa lost the election in 2013 and 2018 against Mohsin Atta Khosa. Mohsin Atta Khosa won elections in 2013 on PML-N ticket but in 2018 won as independent candidate. Mohsin Khosa won the 2018 elections against Saif Khosa with a wide margin of 9,000 votes. This time the contest might be much closer.
Now he is supporting the Qadir Khosa. Sardar Awais Leghari the head of Leghari tribe and senior PML-N  leader is also campaigning for Qadir Khosa. Awais Leghari has resigned from his ministry to actively take part in the election campaign.
This constituency is mainly rural and personal influence and local groupings plays key role in the outcome of the election.
