In a big upset, Ireland defeated England by 5 runs in T20 world cup

 England was at 105 for 5 in 14.5 overs just 5 runs short when rain stopped play in chasing 158 runs target


Cricket minnow Ireland defeated England in a big upset of T20 world cup at MCG. Ireland scored 157 runs in 19.2 overs at MCG. Irish captain Andy Balbirnie scored brilliant 62 on 47 balls. Lorcan Tucker scored 34 runs. Livingston and Wood took three wickets each. 
in chasing the target of 158 runs,  England was at 105-5 in 15th over when rain stopped the play and on DLS method England was 5 runs short of its target. Irish fast bowler Josh Little took 2 wickets for 16 runs in 3 overs. David Malan scored 35 runs while Moin Ali scored 24 not out on just 12 balls. 
With this upset defeat of England, the group of death has become wide open. The group consists of New Zealand, Australia, England, Sri Lanka, Ireland and Afghanistan. 
The New Zealand is at the top of the group after two matches with 3 points. Australia, England, Sri Lanka and Ireland has two points each. Afghanistan has one point so far.
