Why the turnout was so low in the by polls?

The overwhelming majority of the voters showed no interest in the by pools and decided to stayaway from polling stations

The overall turnout was 35%  in the by polls. Nearly half a million voters that cast their ballots in 2018 decided to abstained. The turnout was just 14.4% in NA-239 Korangi. The turnout was just 21% in NA-31Peshawar. The women turnout was even lower. Only 27.8%  women voters cast their ballots. The turnout of women voters was just 10.1% in NA-31 Peshawar.
