Pakistan qualifies for the semi final of T20 world Cup

 Netherlands shocked South Africa with a 13 runs win and paved the way for Pakistan to qualify for semi final

Pakistan has qualified for the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-finals after defeating Bangladesh by five wickets in the do-or-die match at the Adelaide Oval. Pakistan chased down the target of 128 runs in the 19th over. Pakistan just lost 5 wickets.

Shaheen Shah Afridi played important role in restricting Bangladesh to 127 runs. He took 4 wickets for just 22 runs. Shadab Khan picked up 2 wickets. Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 54 runs for Bangladesh.

Rizwan scored 32 runs while Haris 31 runs for Pakistan. Babar Azam scored 25 runs and Shan Masood 24 runs and played important role in Pakistan’s victory.  

Despite defeating Bangladesh, Pakistan’s qualification was not possible without defeat of South Africa. Netherlands stunned South Africa with a 13 runs win in the first match of the day at Adelaide Oval. South African win against Netherlands could have ended Pakistan's journey in the T20 world cup 2022. No body was expecting that Netherlands will defeat  top team like South Africa. That is what game of cricket all about.   

Following South Africa's defeat at the hands of the Netherlands, the match had become a virtual quarter-final between both teams. Whoever wins this game goes through to the semi-finals.

Pakistan won its last three matches after losing first two matches. Pakistan will play its semi-final against New Zealand on Wednesday, November 09 at Sydney.
