Republican Party failed to make big gains in US midterm elections 2022

 Republican Party was expecting a landslide victory and a red wave that never materialised

The midterm election results are a political setback for former president Trump. He was hoping for a landslide victory for Republicans.  He wanted to launch his own campaign for 2024 presidential elections on a winning note. But most of his staunch supporters lost the elections. 

Democratic party performed much better than most of the political commentators and analysts were predicting.
