PPP sweeps local government elections in 08 out of 09 districts of Hyderabad division

PPP dominated elections in Badin, Sajawal, Thatha, Jamshoro, Matiari, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan and Dadu districts

According to unofficial results local government elections 2023 in 08 out of 09 districts of Hyderabad division, PPP has swept the polls. PPP has gain the clear majority in district councils, Municipal, Town  and union committees of Badin, Sajawal, Thatha, Jamshoro, Matiari, Tando Allahyar, Tando Mohammad Khan and Dadu districts. 

PPP has won 796 seats out of 944 seats declared so far. There are total 3,101 seats in Hyderabad division. Independents have 60 seats, PTI 56, GDA 11, JI 11, JUI-F 06, SUP 05 and PML-N 01 seat so far.  PPP has completely wiped out GDA and PTI in Badin, Sajawal, Tando Allahyar, Tando Mohammad Khan, Jamshoro and Matiari districts. 

PPP has won 184 seats of Town Committees announced so far. Independents 12 seats, GDA 06 seats, JUI-F 03 and PTI 02 seats so far. There are total 241 seats of Town Committees in Hyderabad division and results of 224 seats have so far been announced. 

In Municipal Committees, PPP has won 139 seats so far, PTI 18, independents 10, GDA02 and  TLP 02 seats. There are total 191 seats of Town Committees and results of 174 seats have so far been declared.

 PPP is also far ahead of other parties on the District Council seats. PPP has won most seats of District Councils. PPP is also leading with wide margin on the Union Committees.   

The elections proved one sided affair for PPP as opposition failed to give tough fight to PPP. PPP has won overwhelming majority of seats in these districts.  PPP faced little opposition from PTI, GDA, JUI-F and JI.  PPP has won all the Town, UC and Municipal committees in these 8 districts. 

Opposition parties including PTI, GDA, JUI-F and JI failed to perform well in these 8 districts.
