Prime Minister made visit to historic Katas Raj temple complex


Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made a visit to historic site of Katas Raj temple complex. This site is regarded one of the holiest places in South Asia for Hindus. Prime Minister also inaugurates the water filtration plant for the historic holy pond called Amrat Jal by Hindus. The Prime Minister also disclosed that government is considering proposals to build two universities. One will be named after the founder of Sikh religion Baba Guru Nanak university in Nankana Sahib and other Ghandhara International university Taxila.

Prime Minister also directed the chairman Evacuee Trust Properties Board Siddique-ul-Farooq to start work to restore the crumbled temples at Katas Raj complex. He asked to complete the projects before the expiry of the tenure of the present government. Siddique-ul-Farooq also announced to complete a residential complex, zoo and market at the site to facilitate the the visitors and pilgrims.
