PTI candidate Umer Amin Gandapur won DI Khan mayoral election

Umer Amin Gandapur defeated JUI-F candidate with a big margin of 24,000 votes

PTI candidate and younger brother of federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Umer Amin Gandapur has been elected as mayor of Dera Ismael Khan after defeating PPP and JUI-F candidates. The elections were postponed due to the murder of ANP candidate during the first phase of KP local government elections.
According to the unofficial results, Umer Amin Gandapur bagged 63753 votes while JUI-F candidate Muhammad Kafeel Ahmad got 39.891 votes while Faisal Karim Kundi came third with 32,788votes.
A close contest was expected in between the three main candidates but pTI candidate won the election in a one sided contest. This result is a political set back for both the opposition candidates. Faisal Karim Kundi of PPP was expected to give tough time to Gandapur but he did poorly.  It is also a political set back for JUI-F as it is the home town of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
